We are hiring! Taylor Studios is seeking an experienced Exhibit Designer and a Project Manager to join our growing team.

Exhibit Designer
We are looking for a skilled, experienced Exhibit Designer with background in museum exhibit design and/or theater set design. Candidates should have experience in drafting and 3-D design. Duties include: leading project design teams, creating exhibit floor plans, museum exhibit designs, lighting design, budgeting design elements, presenting designs to clients, and collaborating with clients, other industry professionals, and A/V firms. Ability to sketch and draw, and knowledge of 3-D software, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required. Knowledge of CAD, Sketch Up, and other design software is recommended. Some travel required in making client presentations. Candidate should have good presentation skills, and strong exhibit design skills. Some knowledge of graphic design & production is a plus but not required. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to work quickly. Bachelor’s degree in Design is required. No tradeshow design resumes please.

Project Manager

Taylor Studios is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Project Manager to join our award-winning team that designs and builds inspiring and educational exhibits for museums and nature centers across the country. Project Manager duties include developing and managing project contracts, work plans, schedules, labor and material budgets, subcontractors, scheduling tasks for design and fabrication team members, and client relationships. Candidates must be highly motivated, organized, detail oriented, and able to interact and lead project teams. Candidates must have exceptional problem solving, planning, and scheduling skills, oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, analytical and math skills, ability to read construction drawings, and management experience. Candidates must be proficient in the use of MS Excel and scheduling software. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management is preferred. Occasional travel is required.

Thorough Drafter-Detailer

Candidates should have proficient knowledge in materials, construction methods, building codes, and ADA guidelines. Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and have some experience in 3-D design. Duties include: creating exhibit floor plans, drafting and detailing museum exhibit designs and components, budgeting design elements, creating and maintaining exhibit component and finishes schedules, and collaborating with design teams and fabrication teams on construction methods. Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, Illustrator, and some 3-D software is required. Knowledge of Sketch Up and Photoshop is recommended. Candidate should have excellent communication skills and strong design skills. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to work quickly. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a design related field is required.

Super Talented Scenic Artist

Want to work at a place where the managers aren't jerks?

Taylor Studios, Inc. is the place. We are looking for a skilled artist to join our award winning team to fabricate original subject material including rock walls, ground-forms, trees, and much more. General carpentry, sculpting, fiberglass, painting, and welding skills are required. A background in set construction is helpful but excellent time management skills and attention to detail are essential. You must be willing to travel 4-8 weeks per year to install exhibits in exciting locations across the country like California, Washington D.C., and New Orleans.

Graphic Designer

Want to work for one of the most creative companies in Central Illinois? Taylor Studios, Inc is looking for a creative graphic designer to join our award winning team. Candidates may be entry level, some experience preferred.

Duties include: design and production of exhibit graphics, including graphic/text panels, labels, photo murals, banners, posters, and directional signs. Projects are primarily print-based, but may also include some design for electronic media, including Web-based and interactive programs. Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is a must. Knowledge of other design software is recommended. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to work quickly. Bachelor's or Associates degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required.

Talented Exhibit Artist / Fabricator

Taylor Studios Inc. is accepting resumes for an Exhibit Artist/Fabricator with broad fabrication skills such as painting, model making, sculpting, carpentry, mold making, casting, metalsmithing; knowledge of production methods and reading design and construction drawings; some experience in three-dimensional production field. This is an entry level position, degree not required, hands-on experience preferred.

Interactive Specialist

Are you good at solving mechanical and/or electronic problems? We are accepting resumes from individuals with a background in mechanical engineering, robotics, electronics and/or audio/visual. You must be able to prototype and fabricate interactive exhibits. Drafting skills are a plus. We are also interested in fine cabinetry makers, artistic metal workers, realistic sculptors, realistic painters, or detail drafters.
