I entirely agree - I often hear from friends and families about the cultures at the companies they work for - most of them I hear about are dry, sterile, political, and all around sound not very enjoyable to work at. I love this place. I love the people. I love our work. I am grateful to be here. I love that I laugh hysterically at least once every day while I'm here. Our people are smart, witty, clever, humorous, dedicated, skilled, passionate, hard working, down-to-earth, and team oriented. We are all very lucky to have such a great environment in which to work.

Cheers to Taylor Studios!

Katy, Thank you very much for sharing. That's a great post. Yes, heartache comes in many forms with horses. I had to say goodbye to my childhood horse a couple years ago. We were together 28 years. Horse injuries are also heart breaking. They really are a fragile creature. Yet, these injuries have brought me strength. I had to be brave and do something when I came upon them. It teaches you how to act under pressure. They are my rock. Yet, they are a perfect fit for the art and design world. I see their beauty every day.

Whenever I do exhibit renderings, whether it be for a bid or a client book, I generally make them the same way I would set up a shot for a movie or short film.

Sometimes a shot can make or break an experience.

I went to school in Urbana Champaign and have been following TSI for a few years on and off now, looking at your job openings etc. I stumbled on your blog today... and this was a great post to stumble on.

"I believe the love for horses has brought passion and success to the rest of my life. To be with horses for a lifetime includes many sacrifices and some heartache. "

this is something I've always believed too. I've been around horses the last 20 years of my life, had my own for 10 that I just had to sell when I moved across country to Las Vegas recently. The heartache associated is something very few people can understand. It's more than just a dog or a cat, (while still heartbreaking) since you know this animal remembers and understands so much more about you. But I wouldn't trade the time I spent for anything despite the heartbreak now.

What I learn from horses I bring to life constantly, as it always seems to apply somehow.

It's good to know there are other people out there in the design and art world who get their inspiration from something like taking a day off to go riding as well.

Betty,

Thank you so much for your kind words about our park. You express so beautifully the wonders that place has held for many people over the years, as well as the sadness when it hit hard times. (I just now learned how to find your blog, thanks to my daughter's tutelage.) Check out our home page--we have a link to your blog!
