As a way to stay current on trends, technology, visitor psychology, and industry practices, our designers participate in a sharing exercise every other week. Each designer is scheduled a day to share something they find interesting or think other designers might find valuable during the weekly design department meeting. Join us every other week to see what interesting topics the designers are talking about, or better yet, sign up to receive the blog delivered to your mailbox so you never miss out on the design sharing!

Typography, whether you realize it or not, plays a huge role in your day-to-day life. It directs, protects, instructs, and most importantly aids understanding. With that understanding, typography infuses emotion into the story we are telling. Here at Taylor Studios we tell stories everyday. We want the visitor to walk away with the best understanding of the story as possible. Most of the exhibits we design are themed, from either a certain time period or to reflect a particular subject. As a designer I reinforce this theme by selecting the most appropriate typefaces and fonts so that the experience is authentic for visitors. Creating an exhibit is one thing, but attention to details is part of what makes Taylor Studios the company we are today.

Sarah Hyndman is an experienced London based Typographer. In this TEDx event, Sarah talks about typography evoking our emotions and setting the scene. Yes, fonts must be legible, but they also bring emotional life to the content.
