Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge
DescriptionWhat if you had to wait 72 years to finally get your visitor center? Our clients are persistent. This refuge opened in 1939 and their visitor center was completed in 2011. Don’t give up! They have a diverse audience and wanted to teach wildlife management techniques. They accomplished their goal through engaging interactives, vibrant graphics, and interactive animations. The animated tidal marsh spin-browser interactive won first place for Digital Media with NAI in 2014. With a limited budget, creativity was a must. A shadow-puppet theater is used to tell the story of a day in the marsh, and a large printed floor map is an effective approach to give visitors the context to fully connect with different locations and habitats within the refuge.
