Nature Nurtures: How and Why to #EscapeTheIndoors this Month

Thursday, June 7, 2018 1:00 PM by Taylor Studios in General

With that freakishly cold winter now squarely behind us, June is the perfect time to get outside, soak up some sun, and smell the roses (or whatever is blooming near you)!

To discover outdoor destinations and recreation opportunities available this summer, visit GreatOutdoorsMonth.org.

Beyond enjoying the universal beauty of the natural world, you’ll find plenty of other physical, mental and emotional benefits to spending time outdoors.

Taylor Studios is passionate, science-backed belief in the restorative powers of nature is a cornerstone of our company culture. (As an exhibit design and fabrication firm that has the privilege of working with parks and nature sites all around the country, it’s only “natural”!)

Our founder and president Betty Brennan has posted extensively about the effects of outdoor recreation on human wellness over the years, such as the benefits of getting outside, the causes of nature deficit disorder, and ways to improve your mind and body with nature.

…but of course, don’t just take our word for it! Taylor Studios has also made a habit of reaching out to some of our especially outdoorsy friends and colleagues to bring you their insights from working in the natural world.

Enjoy a few of our prior guest posts – their wisdom is perennial:

Lessons from Kelly Farrell, Chief of Interpretation and Program Services at Arkansas State Parks

Lessons from Greg Hunter, Director of Natural Resources at Dixon Park District

Alright; now it’s time to power down whatever digital device you’re reading this on and #escapetheindoors!

See you out there!
