Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park - Hindman Hall Exhibits |
Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park contains one of the most intact Civil War battlefields. Visitors can walk on grounds where approximately 2,700 soldiers died in one day of fierce fighting. Taylor Studios designed exhibits interpreting the Battle of Prairie Grove for Hindman Hall, a gift from a descendent of Confederate General Hindman.
A challenging aspect of this project was designing exhibits to appeal to demanding Civil War enthusiasts and displaying as many of the Park’s artifacts as possible, while still creating an engaging experience for the general public. The first step in achieving this balance was creating a strong central theme which linked the events of the battle to evocative intangible concepts. Taylor Studios also wrote different levels of interpretive text to accommodate the varying interest levels of the visitors.
